"Do It Yourself" - DIY Web Pages

Can you design, optimize and maintain your own web site?  Sure you can!.  More and more tools and information are available everyday to make it possible.  I learned the "Do it yourself" way  also known as "learning the hard way" OR "the school of hard knocks" OR "the time pit" OR "I have more time than I know what to do with" and many other euphemisms we are all familiar with. For me, I have always learned this way and enjoyed it, for the most part.  Though not always having the luxury of time to spend on learning, I think that sometimes you actually understand more if you learn it yourself.  At the same time, I don't believe that it is the most efficient, nor the most practical for most of us. 

The internet if full of information from people who "know" and are willing to share it with others.  The sharing part is three fold (and more) - one, is paying back or mentoring as they have been mentored; second, being able to share information with others means that you know what you are talking about; and three, information related to your area of expertise drives traffic to your site and hopefully clients.
